After a bit of a challenge, my sister announced they were expecting their first baby. I thought an Angel would be the most appropriate gift.
Since she was due in the winter, this Angel was even more perfect for little Morgan.

I fell in love with the colour combinations of this Angel. When she was finished, it was clear she was for my little sister.

The inspiration to sew this Angel for my Mother came as soon as I saw the little village she was flying over.
It was also chosen by my Mum because of the green robes, which is her favourite colour.
I won 1st place at the village faire with her!

Since my first niece was given an Angel at her birth, it was only fair that Paige should receive one too. Because my sister's hair is not blonde,
I felt it more appropriate to stitch this Angel with brown hair.

This pattern remains a mystery to me. She is supposed to be stitched on black linen, but I stitched her on bright white and added a
treasure braid to the white of her dress.

To date, one of my crowning achievements. I stitched her specifically at the request of my sister when I unexpectedly became an Aunt
again to little Ella. After stitching 75% of her, I disliked the colour combinations SO much I tore most of it out and added my own
colours. I mixed her sisters' Angels and Celtic Springs' colours for the final result.

the village fair with this pattern in 2006.

This Angel is the second of two that I have now stitched for my Mum. She is the mirror image of the Angel of Light. I had to convince
my Mum to let me stitch her because she feared when the two were hung together they would fly into each other.

Since the weather has been a little bizarre the last week or so, Montreal has turned into a giant skating rink! Those of us who have lived here all our lives know how to waddle along like penguins safely enough. Emily being from a different province didn't realize just how dangerous running for the bus at night could be. As a result she fell quite hard on her knee, but didn't realize to what extent she'd injured herself until the next day (being Sunday). Under the orders of the three registered nurses in our choir, Emily was sent to have it looked at. Since Emily is from out of town I went with her to the emergency room to keep her company. Once she was checked in, I chauffeured her around in a wheel chair. The doctor who saw Emily said she had parcially torn her Medial Collateral Ligament, but needed to get a second opinion to make sure the severity was in fact a 2 not a 3... When I asked what the difference was between the degrees, the doctor said that a 1 is just uncomfortable, where as a 3 is like a Gumby Doll... Emily just has to be careful at this point, but considering she has 4 shows to perform in this week, I don't think much healing will likely happen. The doctor has warned her that if she tears the MCL she'll need surgery and will inevitably have knee problems the rest of her life! :S Gotta Love Opera McGill!!
