Megan's Masters Recital

Despite the fact that this week has been all about the late nights, they were all for a good cause. Tonight's event was the final recital that Megan will EVER have to do at McGill WUHOO!! Well done darlin', you rock my world :PAs I was walking home, I felt like I was back in the UK. The fog was so thick you couldn't see round the corner. I was able to take quite a few moody shots with the night setting on my NEW camera that I conveniently had at hand (with my jellyfish peak-a-pooh dangling at its side from the girlies). While I was scrapbooking over the weekend, I was torturing the kitties once again... I had originally wanted a shot of Cohiba stretching to the max, what I actually got was significantly better! I think it screams "ENOUGH WITH THE PICTURES ALREADY!!"

Mother's Tree

Ironically I finished this pattern on my birthday! I started it while in the UK in January and was actually hoping to finish while I was there, but I got distracted by beading and bell ringing :D

Thanks to friends and family!!

This weekend was my 25th Birthday.... I'm still coming to terms with the fact that I'm a quarter century... I was able to capture many moments with the BEAUTIFUL NEW CAMERA my wonderful parents gave me!!!!
Thank you Allie & clan, Mum & Dad, and Dinglebum for singing at my answering machine :D Thank you Jess for EVERYTHING!! Including breakfast and cake on Saturday, and dinner and stitching on Sunday.
You're all incredible!!

What do you do when you get more than a foot of snow?

JUMP IN IT!! Duh...I got home tonight after rehearsal and mischief was in the air... To get a parking spot Jess' beau, Jeff needed to dig a hole in the snow. I helped as Jess "entertained". This swiftly turned into a snowball fight, which then turned into a girls vs. boy attack (while we were not-so-stealthily hiding behind a car), which then turned into Jeff chasing Jess down the street with a giant chunk of snow, which lead to Jess throwing Jeff in the snow, which was when Jess and I legged it to the door giggling! As we were taunting Jeff Monty Python style from inside the building, the ingenious idea came into my head that it would be fun to jump into the snow... I haven't had that much fun outside in a years!! Now I know our neighbours think we're crazy, MuHAHAH!!

I spoke WAY too soon...

As I was leaving choir last night I was reminded to be wary if travelling the next day due to a "big storm" coming through and I laughed... I got home, looked at the news and saw the devastation in the Midwest US. I had to be downtown for and appointment at 8am this morning... All I heard on the radio was "all schools in .... school board are closed". Thanks to the power of public transport I made it to my appointment on time. It's been snowing since about 5am and it is still snowing!!!
For those who didn't know (or forgot) I was tested for asthma today, after viral bronchitis and a sinus infection in the fall triggered a certain professional interest. Because of the snow and no one wanting to leave their homes, I had the luxury of every medical specialist I needed without delay! Even some I didn't need who were enjoying the unusually relaxed atmosphere, but though there was no waiting around I was still there for three hours. The verdict is that I'm prone to asthmatic episodes brought on by exertion or infection. When I had originally asked my ENT about the possibility of having asthma, she was sceptical but not doubtful of the possibility since it is on my paternal side, however the doctor today said it's not something limited to maternal lineage. I also wanted to know how I could have developed it outside of childhood. The answer was that it presents in men more often in infancy and childhood and women develop it later in life. How bizar! Like father, like daughter...

Like a lamb

Its March and we are not in a snow storm! The weather is absolutely amazing!!
As A&P steadily prepares for Lent and Easter, work has moved into a plethora of holidays I never knew existed. For example this weekend is Purim which deals with Queen Esther and Haman. As a result I get to eat Hamantashen (loosely translated as Haman's hats)! I even got the recipe that I'm going to try at home with poppy seed filling! :P
