Back in the Colonies

After a fairly uneventful journey I made it back to my home and kitties yesterday evening. It wasn't a flight for sleeping since I was sitting beside two young men flying to Canada for the first time... Needless to say I got the "Will there be snow?" and "Will we see Moose and Mounties everywhere?". I had a little nap after watching XMen 3, but certainly nothing substantial. Once I landed, Canadian customs whisked me though and I got my bags in a timely fashion too! Nothing like the journey over, that's for sure!!!
This morning I woke up at about 6am on the nose and couldn't coax myself back into a deep slumber. I ended up voluntarily rolling out of bed at 7am to take a shower and assess what needed doing and what needed shopping for. Once I had a few groceries I came home to do laundry and unpack. Every time I arrive home after a long trip away I have to reestablish a routine. My poor cats!! Monty almost won't speak to me, but as soon as I'd fed him a couple of times he was persuaded to cuddle with me for a few moments.
One of the big achievements of my return journey was to smuggle a Dalek safely in my suitcase. I was dying to see how the cats would react to it chasing them down the hallway... Only Cohiba was curious enough to actually make contact with the strange object. I managed to catch a couple of priceless moments on film. Hope you enjoy!

The ZX-6R!!

As you can see yesterday I was reviewing passenger basics with Tom which I learned last time I was here, which is an essential part of ridding a bike. After an absolutely beautiful day of sitting outside with my mum stitching, bell ringing and swimming in the afternoon I was supposed to go on a little adventure around the costwalds. However we learned that my 92 year old Godmother has fractured her knee cap which staying a little closer home. Nancy had actually fractured it three weeks ago, but because she's of the mentality that one should just "get on with it", it wasn't until yesterday that she actually had it x-rayed. I hope she is feeling better soon!!
Today I'm off to the White's of Appleton to help paint bell frames. This of course means prancing in the beautiful blue suite that I wore last time!! :)

Ode to the Hedgehog

Well I should have known that seeing a nocturnal animal in the middle of the day in a swimming pool meant there was something wrong with it. After rescuing the poor little creature, only a few days later I found him dead in the pool: Kamikaze Hedgehog. May he find rest now in a place filled with slugs, apples and bananas!
